Since 2004, Practice Management & Billing Solutions, Inc. has provided the highest quality practice management services to each of our clients, with particular dedication to the surgical specialty of anesthesiology and pain medicine. Founded by a group of anesthesiologists and billing professionals who recognized a need for anesthesia billing in the area, the locally owned company has grown from one client to nine at 16 different sites in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Thomas A De Ascentis, MBA
As one of the founding members of Practice Management & Billing Solutions, Thomas brings 28 years of health care finance and management experience, as well as 16 years in anesthesia practice management.
Thomas is responsible for the business development and the ongoing operation of the agency. He implements and coordinates all client services, including day-to-day operation support, financial reporting and accounting functions, monitoring of continual quality improvement initiatives, staffing and facility utilization analysis, business development and strategic planning, third party and facility contract negotiations, 401k and defined benefit plan administration, accounts receivable management, billing coding, and provider credentialing. He also works in human resource management, compensation, benefit design, and recruitment.
He has a Bachelor of Science Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of General Business Administration, both earned through Youngstown State University. His clients have been recognized in 2004 and 2006 by MGMA as a Better Performer in the Practices of Successful Medical Groups in the area of “Productivity, Capacity and Staffing.”
Prior to joining Practice Management & Billing Solutions, he worked as practice administrator with Bel-Park Anesthesia Associates, Inc. for five years. Before that, he worked as a reimbursement and financial analyst with St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown from 1987 to 1995; a provider-contracting specialist with Humility of Mary Health Partners from 1995 to 1996; and as the director of physician services for HMHP from 1996 to 1999. Since 1999, he continues to serve as treasurer of the St. Elizabeth Health Center School for Nurse Anesthetists.
He is a member of the National Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), Ohio Medical Group Management Association (OMGMA), Anesthesia Administration Assembly (AAA), American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE), Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA), and the Pennsylvania Medical Society (PSMS).
